COMMUNITY MATTERS.
Douglas County is a vibrant and growing community, and as your commissioner, I am committed to addressing our current challenges and preparing for our future.

Here’s how I plan to serve our community:
About Me
My name is Paula Lamanna
I love our community! I would like to bring positivity and unity to our large area that is Douglas County.

My degree is in Agricultural science and business management. I am currently taking classes to get my PMP for project management. I was a real estate agent, and a foster parent for 7 years and volunteered with homeless and at-risk youth. I have an eclectic background that is rooted in our community.
I want to help be a voice for the people in Douglas County. I like to think outside the box for solutions for such as housing, and energy resources.
I would like to implement or help build on our
resources for our youth, as they will be next in line to expand on our efforts to make Douglas County the
best place to live and raise their families. We also need to do forward-thinking, and planning for our
infrastructure as we grow and develop with more people choosing to live here.
It would greatly benefit us to create infrastructure solutions that can be the foundation for future building and expansion projects, so they can be added on for years to come.
I worked in orchards for a long time; I understand the cohesion that needs to exist between agriculture and
urban development. We need to support our farmers along with creating sustainable growth methods.
I have been a liaison between federal, state, and tribal agencies on restoration projects in our area.
As a real estate agent, I know a lot about zoning, permitting, and regulations when it comes to building and
short-term rentals.
My education in project management is the best addition to my commissioner position. There is a
systematic approach along with ethical decision-making to make sure all facets of the projects are
directed appropriately. This helps everything we are working on have documented timelines, constant
communication with stakeholders and community, planned budgets, allocated funds go where they
belong, all pros and cons all documented, backup plans if something doesn’t go as planned, and
keeping projects on task and budget. I plan to make a difference through farming and infrastructure while going all the way to finding solutions for decreasing homelessness in our community.
I know I am a great candidate for this position, and I am excited to work with all of you!
